ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team met defending American Southwest Conference Women's Soccer champions Hardin-Simmons University in the championship match for the third consecutive season, but surrendered two goals off set pieces to take a 2-0 loss.
Hardin-Simmons took a 1-0 lead in the 32
nd minute when Taylor Bernal scored off a corner kick with a double-assist from Baylee Ford and Madelyn Dowell. Dowell quickly put the Cowgirls up by two, scoring off a penalty kick in the 34
th minute. The remainder of the game played scoreless as both teams limited scoring chances for one another. Hardin-Simmons totaled six shots in the contest with just one in the second half while the Cru also had six shots, two in the second half.
Emmy McMaude took the loss for the Cru, allowing two goals and making two saves. Haley Foley earned the shutout win in goal for the Cowgirls.

Emmy McMaude represented UMHB on the All-Tournament team. Hardin-Simmons earned its 20th ASC title and the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer. The selection show for the championships airs Monday, November 11
