RICHARDSON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell to the University of Texas at Dallas Saturday afternoon in the 2019 American Southwest Conference Volleyball Championship.
UMHB won the first set 25-20, but well 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 to take the 3-1 loss.
Corinne Novak led the Cru with 14 kills followed by
Jenna Gillean with 12. UMHB totaled 56 kills in the match, hitting .232 against the Comets.
Miranda Klein led the Cru with 26 assists in the contest, followed by
Cory Jo Martin with 22. Defensively, Martin led with 22 digs followed by Gillean with 20. Novak and
Adrien Valdez each contributed 17 digs as UMHB totaled 97 in the match.
Sarah Paolini was the Cru's leading blocker, putting up five block assists with
Kayla Janikula and Klein adding four each. UT Dallas hit .232 with 67 kills on 198 total attacks.

Sarah Paolini represented UMHB on the All-Tournament team. UT Dallas earned its sixth ASC title and the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championships. The selection show for the championships airs Monday, November 11
