BELTON, Texas – Nine runs over the final three innings were too much for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball team to overcome in an 11-4 loss to the University of the Ozarks Saturday in Belton. UMHB drops to 4-15 overall and 0-6 in American Southwest Conference play with the loss. The Eagles improve to 10-13 overall and 5-4 in the ASC on the season with the victory.

Ozarks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but the Cru answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
Hunter McQuary and
Caimyn Holiday had back-to-back RBI singles to give UMHB a 2-1 lead. The Eagles tied the game in the top of the fourth and then broke the game open in the final innings. Ozarks plated five runs in the seventh and two more in both the eighth and ninth to take an 11-2 lead. The Cru added two runs in the bottom of the ninth on a run-scoring wild pitch and another McQuary RBI single, but left the bases loaded.

McQuary finished with two of UMHB's five hits on the day.
Aaron Edelmon took the loss to drop to 1-4 despite giving up just one earned run in six and two-thirds innings. David Beck struck out nine and scattered four hits to improve to 2-4 for Ozarks. Sam Swartz had three hits and three other players added two hits apiece for the Eagles.

The Cru will host Texas Lutheran for a non-conference game Tuesday night. UMHB will then return to ASC action with a three-game home series against Sul Ross State next weekend.
