BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team swept a pair of dual matches from Sul Ross State Friday in Belton to improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in American Southwest Conference West Division play. The Lobos fall to 1-10 overall and 0-3 in the ASC West with the two losses.
UMHB claimed a 5-1 win in an ASC West Division match to open the day. The Cru swept through doubles and then picked up wins at #3 and #6 singles to clinch the victory. Three singles matches were still on the court when the match was decided. The two teams followed with a shortened format non-conference match with UMHB winning 5-2. The Cru swept singles from #3 to #6 and added a win at #2 doubles in the only match to reach the court to clinch the win.
The Cru women are set to return to action with a 10 am match against Southwestern University Saturday in Georgetown.
