BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team faced a tough challenge in the opening dual match of the spring season, falling to 22
nd-ranked Southwestern University 9-0. The Cru is now 0-1 to start the spring. The Pirates improve to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
 
Southwestern swept through doubles with 
Victoria Rendon and 
Amanda Almanza taking one game at #1 doubles. Rendon won a pair of games at #1 singles and 
Sydney Andersen took a game at #4 singles as the Pirates swept to the win.
 
The Cru women will return to action with a pair of road matches next weekend. UMHB will play at East Texas Baptist next Friday before facing LeTourneau University Saturday morning in Longview.
