BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor soccer team routed Howard Payne University 5-0 Monday evening in Brownwood. The win improved the Cru to 4-0-1 on the season and 2-0-1 in American Southwest Conference action while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in league play.
Brody Conley anchored UMHB's explosive offense in the first half of action, assisting goals by
Ethan Buchanan and
Price Peden and scoring one of his own. The Yellow Jackets also scored an own goal in the half, giving UMHB a 4-0 lead.
Amasan Agbu added one run in the second half to up UMHB's lead to 5-0.
Patrick Roach led the Cru with five shots while
Nick Villanueva added four. UMHB totaled 27 shots in the contest, putting 11 on frame. UMHB's defense did not allow the Yellow Jackets a shot on frame.
Ethan Rimbey and
Dalton Lloyd split time in the net for UMHB. Eduardo Flores took the loss for Howard Payne, allowing four goals with two saves in 45 minutes of action.
The Cru returns to action on Sunday, March 14
th in a 5 p.m. match against Howard Payne University at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
