IRVING, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team edged the University of Dallas 1-0 Friday evening in Irving. UMHB improved to 2-1 to the season while University of Dallas went to 1-2.
The first half played scoreless with UMHB out-shooting University of Dallas 10-6. It took
Maria Rico just 41 seconds into the second half to give the Cru a 1-0 lead. Rico scored off an assist from
Grace Greenly to put UMHB ahead. The Cru allowed six shots in the second half but none of those on frame.
UMHB outshot UD 15-12 in the contest, putting six shots on goal. Rico led the Cru with five shots and two shots on goal while
Mackenzie Worthy and
Emi Velez each added two shots.
Reagan Williams and
Ainsley Westlake split time in the net for the Cru. Williams made four saves in the win.
The Cru returns to action on Saturday, September 11
th in a 5 p.m. match at University of St. Thomas in Houston.
