Sante Parker, Jr. has been named a semifinalist for the 2022 William V. Campbell Trophy.
The William V. Campbell Trophy is college football's premier scholar-athlete award. The list of candidates boasts an impressive 3.62 grade-point average.
Parker, a defensive end from Katy, is one of 156 semifinalists for this year's trophy, spanning three NCAA divisions and the NAIA. Parker is one of 29 Division III semifinalists, joining Cody Harral (Hardin-Simmons) as the two American Southwest Conference representatives.
Parker holds a 3.93 grade-point average as a computer science major specializing in cybersecurity. He is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, earning first team honors last season. He is also a two-time CoSIDA academic all-district selection and three-time academic all-ASC honoree. Parker is a five-time member of the Provost's Honor Roll and two-time Dean's Honor Roll recipient.

UMHB has won two national championships, three American Southwest Conference championships and finished the season with three top-10 final rankings. Parker has also served as a team captain and member of the football team's leadership council.
The National Football Foundation will announce 12-14 finalists for the award on October 26
th. Each finalist receives an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2022 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class.
