Alex Farah named offensive line coach

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football program announced the hiring of Alex Farah as the Cru's new offensive line coach on Tuesday.

Farah comes to UMHB after several collegiate coaching stops and a successful playing career. He served as the offensive line coach at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff last season, coaching athletes to all-conference, all-American and FCS Offensive Lineman of the Year honors.

Prior to his time in Pine Bluff, Farah served as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Independence Community College in Kansas. Farah helped ICC to a regular season championship as the offense ranked in the top 25 nationally in six different offensive categories. Farah's coaching career also includes stops at Hutchinson Community College, Glenville State University, Texas State University and Appalachian State University.

Farah also spent five and a half years as part of Appalachian State's coaching staff. He worked with linebackers and the defensive line as a student assistant before being promoted to the offensive line graduate assistant.

"Alex brings a wealth of Division I knowledge to our program with experience recruiting Texas high school athletes," Head Coach Larry Harmon said. "We are excited for him to join the Cru."

Farah is a native of Matthews, N.C. and was an offensive lineman at Butler High School. He helped lead the Bulldogs to state championships in 2009 and 2010. Farah graduated from Appalachian State in 2014 with a degree in business administration. Farah replaces Matt Cannata who left after the 2022 season to take a job at the Division I level.
