Women’s Soccer defeats McMurry

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team defeated McMurry University 2-0 Saturday evening in Abilene. The Cru improved to 14-0-1 on the season and 6-0-1 in American Southwest Conference action, while the War Hawks fell to 9-4-3 overall and 2-3-2 in conference play.  

UMHB got on the board quick with a goal from Mackenzie Worthy in the fifth minute on an assist from Jayme Dowell. Worthy added one more for the Cru on an assist from Natalie Mason at the 34th minute mark to go into the half ahead 2-0. The Cru held the War Hawks through the second half to secure the 2-0 victory.

The Cru totaled 13 shots, led by Worthy with five shots and four on frame. The UMHB defense held the War Hawks to just one shot during the match.

UMHB returns to action Saturday, October 28th in a 5:00 p.m. contest against Concordia University Texas to close out regular season action.  The win also guaranteed the Cru at least a share of the 2023 ASC Women's Soccer regular-season title.
