BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win in the season opener against the University of St. Thomas (Texas) Friday in Belton.
 
Emily Higgs and Erin Kittredge earned an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles before Abbey Faggard and Rebeca Almanza earned an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles. Faggard earned the Cru's third point with a win at No. 4 singles, followed by a Lori Bryan win at No. 3 singles. Emily Higgs clinched the win for the Cru with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
 
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, February 11^th in a 1 p.m. match against the University of Texas at Dallas at Yvonne Li Tennis Center in Belton.
