BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, released Tuesday.
UMHB will host University of St. Thomas, East Texas Baptist University and Schreiner University in the pod. University of St. Thomas (Texas) and East Texas Baptist University will open play on Friday, March 3
rd at 4:50 p.m. followed by UMHB and Schreiner at 7:20 p.m. The winners of those two contests will advance to face each other in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday, March 4
th at 7:20 p.m.
The Cru earned an at-large bid to the tournament off a 2023 resume that boasts 21 wins, including a 5-2 record against regionally-ranked opponents. UMHB has a 1-1 record against East Texas Baptist and did not face either University of St. Thomas or Schreiner in the regular season.
University of St. Thomas was also at at-large selection to the tournament while East Texas Baptist University (ASC) and Schreiner University (SCAC) were both automatic qualifiers, winning their respective conference championships.
