University of St. Thomas (Texas) and East Texas Baptist University will open play on Friday, March 3rd at 4:50 p.m. followed by UMHB and Schreiner at 7:20 p.m. The winners of those two contests will advance to face each other in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday, March 4th at 7:20 p.m.

The Cru earned an at-large bid to the tournament off a 2023 resume that boasts 21 wins, including a 5-2 record against regionally-ranked opponents. UMHB has a 1-1 record against East Texas Baptist and did not face either University of St. Thomas or Schreiner in the regular season.

University of St. Thomas was also at at-large selection to the tournament while East Texas Baptist University (ASC) and Schreiner University (SCAC) were both automatic qualifiers, winning their respective conference championships.

"We are so excited to host another NCAA regional in Belton this season," Head Coach Clif Carroll said. "There's nothing better than postseason basketball on your home court."
