GRANBURY, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team leads after the opening round at the American Southwest Conference Preview Saturday in Granbury.
UMHB shot an opening-round 301 (+13) and leads the field by one stroke.
Luke Lohman leads the individual competition with a 72 (E) after the first day. Lohman led the tournament in birdies (5), par-4 scoring (-1) and par-3 scoring (3).
Grant Carter and
Cole MacMillan are both tied for seventh after shooting a 76 (+4). Carter's round included three birdies while MacMillan shot two.
Jack Workman is tied for 13
th after shooting a 77 (+5) while
Evan Acevedo (+10) and Treyson Archer (+10) also competed for UMHB's A Team.
UMHB's B Team currently sits in third place after carding a 306 (+18) after the first 18 holes.
Ian Clough shot a 75 (+3) with four birdies and is tied for fourth while
Camdan Indelicato finished just behind him with a 76 (+4), placing him in seventh. Will Mullin's 77 (+5) puts him in 13
th place individually while
Kyle Wandel is 19
th with a 78 (+6).
Kason Wolfe (+10) and Juan Andres Magallanes (+22) also competed for the Cru.
Hardin-Simmons sits in second place with a 302 (+14), followed by LeTourneau with a 307 (+19) and East Texas Baptist (+22). Howard Payne is also competing two teams with a 323 (+35) and a 342 (+54).
Tournament play continues on Sunday, October 13
