BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team blanked East Texas Baptist University 2-0 Saturday evening in Belton. The win improved the Cru to 9-2-1 overall and 3-1 in American Southwest Conference action while Tigers fell to 4-6-1 on the season and 2-2 in league play.
Kennedy Harris opened scoring for the Cru, netting an unassisted goal in the 29
th minute. UMHB held that lead through the first half, outshooting the Tigers 9-2 in the frame.
Natalie Mason added an insurance goal for the Cru in the 63
rd minute, scoring off a pass from
Trinity Hoffmann for a 2-0 margin. UMHB limited the Tigers to just two second-half shots to preserve the 2-0 victory.
Trinity Hoffmann led the Cru with six shots while Harris added four. UMHB totaled 19 shots in the contest, putting 10 on frame. The Cru limited the Tigers to just four total shots and only one on frame in the match.
UMHB returns to action on Saturday, October 19
th in a 5 p.m. match at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson.
