CHAMPIONS! Women’s Cross wins ASC title; Wall earns runner up

MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's cross country team finished first in the American Southwest Conference Championship race Saturday morning in Marshall, winning the 2024 ASC Women's Cross Country Championship. Presley Wall finished in second place individually in the 6K race.
 
Wall, a senior from Decatur, finished with a time of 23:44 in the 6K race, earning her the second-place finish overall. Laurel Jarrott also finished top five with a time of 24:46. Chylar Greer came in two runners behind her in seventh with a time of 25:20, followed by Amanda Stockton in eighth place with a final time of 25:25. Mary Wittmer (26:26), Andrea Gibson (26:29), Reagan Bashore (27:12), Amiya Crosslin (27:14), and Maiah Jackson (27:33) also competed for the Cru.
 
UMHB won the title with an average time of 25:08, earning 38 points. East Texas Baptist followed behind the Cru in second place with an average time of 25:28 (44 points). Hardin-Simmons placed third, with the first-place individual finisher, and an average team time of 25:30 (57 points). LeTourneau rounded out the team ranks with an average time of 26:37 (84 points).
 
UMHB returns to action in the NCAA West Regional Championship on Saturday, November 16th at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon.
