BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, announced Monday. The Cru will travel back to Abilene in a tournament-pod hosted by Hardin-Simmons University.
UMHB holds a 21-6 record this season and advanced to the American Southwest Conference title game against Hardin-Simmons. The Cru went 12-4 in conference play and maintained a 16-game win streak this season.
The Cru will face Trinity University Texas in the NCAA First Round on Friday, March 1
st at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to face the winner of Hardin-Simmons and Occidental in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday, March 2
nd at 8 p.m. UMHB has a 1-2 record against HSU this season and opened the 2023-24 campaign at Trinity on November 11
th.
This is the program's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first under head coach
Katie Novak-Lenoir.
