Women’s Basketball earns at-large bid to NCAA Division III Championship Tournament

BELTON, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's basketball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, announced Monday. The Cru will travel back to Abilene in a tournament-pod hosted by Hardin-Simmons University.
 
UMHB holds a 21-6 record this season and advanced to the American Southwest Conference title game against Hardin-Simmons. The Cru went 12-4 in conference play and maintained a 16-game win streak this season.
 
The Cru will face Trinity University Texas in the NCAA First Round on Friday, March 1st at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to face the winner of Hardin-Simmons and Occidental in the NCAA Second Round on Saturday, March 2nd at 8 p.m. UMHB has a 1-2 record against HSU this season and opened the 2023-24 campaign at Trinity on November 11th.
 
This is the program's fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first under head coach Katie Novak-Lenoir.

They have worked so hard to earn this opportunity and we know that anything can happen in March! Heart and hustle got us here and we are going to continue to enjoy the ride and build on this season."
