LEXINGTON, Ken. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's golf team won a playoff to claim the title at the Transylvania Fall Invite Sunday in Lexington.
UMHB shot a 289-281=570 (-6) to tie with tournament-host Transylvania for the top spot. The Cru then won a playoff on the fifth score to take home the trophy.
Grant Carter finished tied for third at 140 (-4), shooting a 69 (-3) in the first round.
Cole MacMillan finished the tournament in 14
th, shooting even par with a 74 (+2) in the first round and a 70 (-2) in the second.
Evan Acevedo and
Kyle Wandel both finished at +1 on the tournament, tying for 18
th.
Trey Archer also competed for the Cru, shooting a 148 (+4) to finish 32
nd individually.
Transylvania shot under par both days with a 284 (-4) and 286 (-2) to finish at 570 (-6). UMHB moved up two spots after the first round, shooting a 281 (-7) in the second round to tie for first. Kenyon shot a 295-282=577 to come in third followed by Mississippi University for Women in fourth (+4) and Roanoke in fifth (+6). McDaniel (+7) and Piedmont (+8) both finished in single-digit differentials while Centre (+13), Transylvania B (+19) and LaGrange (+24) rounded out the top ten.
