BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team shut out McMurry 2-0 Saturday evening in Belton. The Cru's record improved to 3-1-1 on the season while the War Hawks fell to 4-4.
Kamryn Taylor put the Cru on the board at the end of the first half off an assist from
Allie Angell, giving UMHB a 1-0 lead headed into halftime.
Ariana Vazquez added an insurance goal for UMHB in the 72
nd minute, scoring off an assist from
Breland Mungia for a 2-0 Cru lead.
Jayme Dowell led the Cru in shots with four on the night, two of which were on target.
Allie Angell and
Kamryn Taylor each had a pair of shots on goal as UMHB totaled 19 shots with 11 on frame.
The Cru's backline held the Warhawks to just two shots in the match.
Morgan Oliver and
Emma Edwards split time in the net, but were not served any shots on-goal by McMurry.
UMHB returns to action in a 7:00 PM contest on Monday, September 23rd against Texas Lutheran in Seguin.
