ABILENE, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Men's Soccer played Hardin-Simmons to a two-goal draw Saturday evening in Abilene. UMHB moved to 12-2-4 overall and 5-0-1 in ASC action while the Cowboys moved to 5-8-2 on the year and 2-2-2 in ASC play.
Colin Elliott put the Cowboys up in the fifth minute, finding the low center of the goal off an assist from Benny Lube. Hardin-Simmons added another goal in the 42
nd minute to give them a two-goal margin at halftime. UMHB outshot the Cowboys 10-4 in the first half, putting three shots on frame.
Grayson Bowler got the Cru on the board in the 67
th minute, scoring off a pass from
Alex Bethke in the 67
th minute. Bowler tacked on another goal in the 75
th minute, tying the contest at 2-2. Both teams pressed but neither was able to score again, ending the game in a draw.
UMHB doubled the Cowboys shots in the contest, putting up 22 shots with nine on frame. Bowler led the Cru with six shots, all on-goal, while
Aidan Aguilera-Reeves added three.
Hughston Taggart made two saves in the full 90-minute contest in the net.
