Men’s Soccer earns 3-0 win against Austin College

SHERMAN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team shut out Austin College in a 3-0 game Saturday evening in Sherman. This win improves the Cru's record to 3-1-2 on the season.

After 30 minutes of scoreless action, Rhett Rapuzzi put the Cru on the board with a goal to give UMHB the 1-0 lead. With five minutes left in the half, Yannis Benae added another goal to extend the Cru's lead to 2-0.

Karsen Macias and Davin Khaffaji each added shots to open the second half but were unsuccessful. In the 84th minute, Alex Bethke answered with another Crusader goal to seal the Cru's 3-0 victory.

Davin Khaffaji led the Cru in shots with three, two of which were on goal. Rhett Rapuzzi, Yannis Benae, and Alex Bethke each tallied a goal on the night. Mack Elliott earned the win in the net, saving the Kangaroos only shot on goal of the night.

UMHB returns to action at home on Thursday, September 18th in a 7:00pm contest against Concordia University Texas.
