NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 match to No. 3 Christopher Newport Friday evening. This takes the Cru's season record to 1-1-1.
The Captains got on the board first with a goal in the 21st minute of play. The rest of the first half remained scoreless, keeping the score at 1-0 into halftime.
UMHB was unable to respond in the second half, taking the 1-0 loss.
Gracie Ruthven led the Cru in shots with two on goal, with two other Crusaders taking one each. Emma Edwards tallied five saves in the net.
The Cru returns to action Sunday, September 7th at 10:00am against Virginia Wesleyan in Virginia Beach.
