Women’s Tennis tops ASC preseason poll

BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Women's Tennis has been picked to win the 2026 American Southwest Conference Championship in the league's preseason poll, released Wednesday
 
UMHB earned 15 points with three first-place votes to top the poll. The Cru went 4-0 last season in conference play with a 10-9 overall record. Hardin-Simmons was voted second with 13 points and one first-place vote, followed by East Texas Baptist with eight points and Howard Payne with four.  
 
Lori Bryan and Jolin Ha were named to the ASC Women's Tennis Players to Watch List. Bryan, a senior from Allen, was a First Team All-ASC selection last season. She earned nine wins at No. 2 singles with five wins in doubles action. Ha, a junior from Sugar Land, earned First Team All-ASC awards in both singles and doubles. She went undefeated with nine wins at No. 4 singles, adding three wins at No. 3 singles and eight wins at No. 1 doubles.
 
The Cru opens the 2026 spring season in a 1 p.m. match against McMurry University on Saturday, February 7th.
