SEGUIN, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team scored in the final two minutes of action to take a 1-0 win over Texas Lutheran University Sunday evening in Seguin. The win improved the Cru to 4-2 on the season.
TLU outshot the Cru 9-4 in the first half, putting three shots on frame. Neither team was able to score, ending the half in a 0-0 draw.
The second half played scoreless until the 89th minute when
Blake Dildy found the back of the net off a double assist from
Martin Valdes and
Jesus Vasquez for the 1-0 lead.
UMHB outshot the Bulldogs 18-13 in the contest, putting 11 total shots on frame.
Hughston Taggart made four total saves in the full 90-minute contest for the Cru. Valdes led the Cru with five shots while four other Crusaders each added two.
UMHB returns to action on Thursday, September 24
th in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Howard Payne University in Brownwood.
