KERRVILLE, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's soccer team took a 2-0 win over Schreiner University in Kerrville Saturday night. This win improved the Cru 2-0 in conference play.
Gracie Ruthven gave the Cru an early lead, scoring in the fourth minute for a 1-0 margin.
Sydney Gaynor extended the Crusaders' lead eight minutes later, scoring with an assist from
Gracie Ruthven. UMHB outshot the Mountaineers 5-3 in the first half.
Aubrey Tipton had two saves in the first half to help the Crusaders maintain their 2-0 lead.
The Cru continued to outshoot Schreiner in the second half 7-5 with two shots on goal.
Aubrey Tipton was a wall for the Crusaders, tallying four saves in the second half to ensure a Crusader win.
Gracie Ruthven led the Cru with five shots and two shots on goal.
Sydney Gaynor had three shots and two shots on goal while
Ella Ruff and
Aubrey Pelczar each added two shots and one shot on goal.
UMHB returns to action Friday, October 2nd in a 6:00 p.m. contest against the University of California Santa Cruz at the UMHB Soccer Fields in Belton.
