Carson Horton and
Keilan Carver have been named American Southwest Conference Football Players of the Week for the week ending September 6
th.
Carson Horton, a junior quarterback from Dayton, earned Offensive Player of the Week after his debut as the starter. Horton threw 20 completions for 351 yards with four touchdowns in the Cru's season-opening win at Rowan. Horton tossed two touchdowns of 50+ yards as he guided the Cru to a 35-14 victory.
Keilan Carver, a sophomore cornerback from Montgomery, was named Defensive Player of the Week. Carver totaled 10 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss against the Profs. He tallied eight solo takedowns and helped limit Rowan to just two scores in the contest.
