Miranda has been a top reserve guard in each of the past three seasons. She is a versatile player who will compete for a starting job in the backcourt this year. 2010-11: Miranda started one game and played in all 26. She averaged 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while adding 38 assists and 24 steals. Miranda scored a season-high 11 points against McMurry and poured in 10 against Trinity. She pulled down a season-best five rebounds against Hardin-Simmons. 2009-10: Miranda played in all 27 games as a key reserve. She averaged 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. Miranda added 30 assists and 18 steals and even blocked two shots. She scored a season-high 10 points in the victory at Sul Ross State. Miranda grabbed a season-high five rebounds in the win over Louisiana College. 2008-09: Miranda played in 15 games and averaged 1.4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game. She scored a season-high 10 points against Texas Lutheran University. High School: Miranda was an All-District basketball player at Axtell High School and she was also the District Offensive Player of the Year. Miranda also lettered in track, golf and cross-country for the Longhorns. Personal: Miranda is the daughter of Linda and Randy Shorter. She was born February 26, 1990 and is majoring in interdisciplinary studies at UMHB.
