Biography

Deshon blossomed into a defensive force in his first season as a starter last year. He was voted ASC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year this season. 2013: Second Team All-ASC selection ... led UMHB and the ASC with 132 total tackles and six forced fumbles ... added 17.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and eight pass break-ups on the year ... the tackle total is the 3rd highest total in school history ... tied a school single-game record with 18 tackles against ETBU ... reached double figures in tackles in seven games ... posted two sacks against MC and had 3.5 tackles for loss in the ETBU game. 2012: Started three games and appeared in all 14 at linebacker ... recorded 65 tackles and 7.5 TFL ... intercepted a pass and forced two fumbles ... posted a career-high nine tackles in playoff win over Franklin. 2011: Appeared in 11 games at linebacker ... finished with 28 tackles and 1.5 TFL ... also forced one fumble and recovered another ... had a season-high seven tackles against SRSU.
