Biography

2018: Missed the beginning of the season due to injury … played in 13 games … scored game-winner in NCAA playoff game against Southwestern (Nov. 10) … added assists against Belhaven (Sept. 27) and Howard Payne (Oct. 6) … totaled six shots with three on goal. 2017: Missed part of the season due to injury … played in 14 games … totaled one assist and seven shots. 2016: Played in all 18 games with 10 starts … recorded one assist against McMurry (Oct. 7) … totaled 11 shots with eight on goal.

Mathew played soccer at Liberty High School where he was named First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, Team MVP, Offensive MVP and Midfield MVP during his tenure. Mathew was also an academic all-state selection and participated in National Honor Society, Cricket Club and Ping Pong Club. Mathew is a pre-dental major at UMHB and wants to become a dentist. He is the son of Robert and Bessie Lay.
