Matthew Oubre joined the Cru in April 2025.Â
He came to UMHB after three years as assistant offensive line coach at Texas Christian University. Oubre coached two first-team all-conference, one second-team all-conference, six honorable mention all-conference and one first-team all-America selection during his time with the Horned Frogs. He also helped TCU to a Fiesta Bowl championship and National Championship Finalist finish in 2022.Â
Prior to TCU, Oubre spent one season with Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he was an active recruiter and coached a pair of all-conference athletes. Oubre also served as offensive line graduate assistant at University of Louisiana-Monroe for one season and Lamar University for two seasons.Â
Oubre was a center for both University of Louisiana-Monroe and Lamar University, earning team captain, all-conference and Leadership Council awards during his tenure. He earned a Bachelor of Arts an Sciences in General Studies from Lamar University in 2016 and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Lamar University in 2020.Â
Oubre is originally from Dayton, Texas. He and his wife, Makensie, have one son, Maddux.
