2023:  Academic All-ASC … Missed part of the season with an injury … Totaled 26 tackles with 19 solo tackles … added six tackles for loss and three sacks … recorded one pass breakup. 

2022: Academic All-ASC …Played in 12 games … totaled 30 tackles with 16 solo takedowns… added two tackles for loss and one sack … also had two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and three quarterback hurries. 

2021: Spent the season developing with the junior varsity program.  

Mason is a business major at UMHB. He played baseball, basketball and football at Alpine High School. Mason was an all-state and all-district selection. He also earned Newcomer of the Year. Mason is the son of Buddy and Kristin Cavness.
