2015-16: ASC All-Academic Honor Roll … played in 26 games with 17 starts … shot .397 with 144 season points … averaged 2.5 rebounds per contest … 2014-15: Played in 15 contests … totaled 24 points, five assists and three steals. 2013-14: Missed significant playing time due to injury … played in nine games with 22 points … made four three-pointers and nine field goals … added 12 rebounds and four steals. 2012-13: Saw playing time in 21 games … hit five three-pointers for a .263 percentage … totaled 31 points, four steals and two blocks.

Avery is an education major at UMHB. He was a four-year basketball letterwinner at Temple High School, where he also earned letters in soccer and track. Avery earned all-district honors three years in basketball and was also a member of theater and the National Honor Society. He is the son of Arti and Susan Polchinski.
