Greg is a two-year starter at foward for the Cru and he continues to develop into one of the team’s top rebounding forces. He is likely to claim a starting job in the front-court again this year. 2010-11: Greg averaged 4.6 points and was second on the team at 5.9 rebounds per game. He started 22 games and played in all 31. Greg added 20 assists, seven steals and led UMHB with 13 blocked shots. Greg scored in double figures six times and had seven double-digit rebounding performances. He had a season-high 17 points against Schreiner and grabbed a season-best 12 rebounds against LeTourneau. 2009-10: Greg was an Academic All-ASC selection. He played in all 29 games and started eight at forward. Greg averaged 3.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He added 10 assists, nine steals and eight blocked shots. Greg scored a season-high 12 points at U.T.-Dallas and he grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds in the season-opening victory over Trinity University. 2008-09: Greg played in 26 games and started three for the Cru. he averaged 3.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Greg shot 51 per cent from the field. He scored a season-high 15 points against ETBU and grabbed a season-high 11 rebounds against Ozarks. High School: Greg was an All-District basketball player and also earned Team MVP honors at Martin High School. He also lettered in baseball. Personal: Greg is the son of Terry and James Wiernas. He was born October 30, 1989 and is majoring in accounting at UMHB.
