2017-18: ASC West Division Tri-Newcomer of the Year … West Division All-Defensive Team … played in all 26 games for the Cru … totaled 403 points and 117 rebounds ... scored a season-high 30 points against Trinity (Nov. 25) … averaged 4.5 rebounds per contest … added 44 assists, 32 blocks and 35 steals.

LaKendric is a sport management major at UMHB. He played four years of varsity basketball at Mumford High School, where he named the MVP of the state championship tournament, first team all-district and first team all-state. LaKendric also played one year of collegiate basketball at Blinn College where he was an honorable mention all-conference selection. LaKendric is the son of LaTosha Hyson.
