2014-15: NABC Honor Court selection … played in all 26 games with 23 starts … totaled 101 points on the year … led the team with 114 assists … added 96 rebounds and 20 steals … shot .811 from the free throw line. 2013-14: Led the Cru in assists (82) and three-point percentage (.405) ... Scored 96 points for a 3.8 scoring average … added 23 steals and 37 rebounds … started in 20 of 25 games played. 2012-13: ASC All-Freshman Team … played in all 33 games … ranked second on the team in assists (83) and third in steals (33) … scored 121 points for a 3.7 game average … totaled 71 rebounds.
Layton is a cell biology major at UMHB with the hopes of becoming a radiologist. He was a three-time all-district basketball player at College Park High School, where he was also named all-county and Montgomery County Defensive MVP. Layton was also an all-district baseball player and participated in National Honor Society, Student Council and Key Club. He is the son of Shane and Vicki Zinsmeister.
