2022-23: Academic All-ASC … played in 26 games … totaled 120 points averaging 4.6 points per game … recorded 25 rebounds, 16 assists and 12 steals. 2021-22: Academic All-ASC … played in all 31 contests … totaled 127 points averaging 4.1 points per game … added 40 rebounds, 31 assists and 18 steals.  

Payton is studying finance at UMHB. He participated in basketball at Abilene Wylie High School, where he was awarded MVP. Payton is the son of Tonya Brooks.
