Zaragoza returned to his alma mater as assistant coach for Men’s Soccer in July 2022.
Zaragoza was a four-year member of the Cru Soccer team and ranks second all-time in career shutouts and career wins. Zaragoza also ranks third all-time in goals-against average. He was a two-time All-ASC selection and earned ASC Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year. Zaragoza was part of the 2017 team that won the program’s first conference title and advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA tournament.
Zaragoza returned to help the Cru to another title in 2018 as a volunteer goalkeeper coach. He graduated from UMHB in December 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. Zaragoza also received a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the university in May 2020. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University.
Zaragoza holds certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), United State of America Weightlifting Level 1 (USAW-L1) from the United State of America Weightlifting (USAW), Certified Sport Nutritionist (CISSN) from the International Society of Sport Nutrition (ISSN) and a Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. He also served as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach with the Cru, graduate research assistant with UMHB’s Human Performance Lab, graduate teaching and research assistant with the Tactical Fitness and Nutrition Laboratory at Oklahoma State and Head of Sport Science for Oklahoma State Women’s Soccer. Zaragoza interned with Clemson University in summer of 2022 as an Olympic Sports Science Intern.
Zaragoza and his wife, Mary, have one son, Leo.
