2021-22: CoSIDA NCAA DIII District 8 Academic All-District … Academic All-ASC … played in 28 games … made 12 starts … averaged 3.6 points a game … recorded a season-high 15 points against Sul Ross State (Jan. 6) … added 49 rebounds, 24 assists and 17 steals. 2020-21: ASC West Division All-Freshman Team ... played in 18 games ... averaged 6.2 points per contest ... scored season-high 16 points against Louisiana College (March 14) ... brought down 54 rebounds ... added 25 assists and 16 steals ... totaled five double-digit scoring performances. 
 
Gibson is an exercise science major with a biology minor. He participated in football, basketball, baseball, track and tennis at Cisco High School. Gibson was named MVP and Defensive MVP in basketball. He was also a first-team all-district selection at three different positions in football and earned all-district pitching honors twice. Gibson is the son of Kevin and April Hearne.
