2012-13: Played in 24 games … scored 49 points for a 2.0 game average … recorded 24 steals … brought down 36 rebounds.

Chantal is studying pre-physical therapy at UMHB. She was an all-district basketball player at Oak Ridge High School, where she also competed in volleyball. Chantal is the daughter of Georges Franco.

Chantal chose UMHB because she liked the campus size, academics and basketball program. She hopes to become a physical therapist someday and work primarily with athletes. Chantal’s favorite food is seafood and her favorite television shows are Scandal, American Dad and Spongebob. Away from the court, Chantal likes to sleep, study, listen to music, draw and read. Most people don’t know that Chantal can read and understand Spanish, Creole and English. Before every game, Chantal reads a passage from Dick Devenzio’s “Think like a Champion” and says a prayer. She credits her father as having the biggest influence on her as a person and an athlete.
