Fred Ellis joined UMHB in 2020 as a Student Success Coordinator for Athletics.
Ellis is a graduate of Baylor University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication in 2010 and a master’s degree in Sports Management in 2012. Ellis was a member of the Baylor Men’s Basketball Team from 2007-2012, where he graduated as the all-time winningest class in Baylor history. He was a four time Big 12 all-academic team selection and made NCAA Elite 8 appearances in 2010 and 2012.
Ellis previously served as head coach for the Vanguard College Prep Men’s Basketball team from 2016-2019. He also worked with Enterprise as a branch manager for three years.
Ellis is married to Christina Ellis and has a son, Trey.
