Lauren has been a key reserve in the backcourt for the Cru each of the past three seasons. She will be counted on to fill a larger role this season and should challenge for a starting job. 2010-11: Lauren started two games and played in 24. She averaged 4.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game while adding 13 assists and 10 steals. Lauren scored a season-high 13 points at Texas Lutheran and grabbed a season-best four rebounds in two different games. 2009-10: Lauren played in 14 games as a reserve guard. She averaged 0.9 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. Lauren added eight assists and five steals. She scored a season-high four points against Southwestern and grabbed three rebounds on three different occasions. 2008-09: Lauren played in 13 games and averaged 2.8 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. She shot 52 per cent from the field and 44 per cent from three-point range. Lauren erupted for a season-high 14 points against Schreiner University. High School: Lauren was an All-District basketball player at Flower Mound High School and she was also Team Captain. Personal: Lauren is the daughter of Krisha and Nick Birdsall. She was born June 10, 1990 and is majoring in exercise and sport science at UMHB.
