Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Abbigail is studying education at UMHB. She was a three-time all-district soccer player at China Spring High School where she also earned Goalkeeper of the Year in her district.  Abbigail earned four letters in varsity soccer and is the daughter of Andres and Tracy Gomez.

Abbigail chose UMHB because of the atmosphere and respected academics. Her favorite professional sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys and Real Madrid and her favorite professional athlete is Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas. Abbigail says most people don’t know she’s afraid of clowns and can’t swim in anything other than a swimming pool. After graduation, Abbigail wants to be a history teacher and soccer coach at her alma mater. Before every game, she says a prayer by herself then touches the ground on the 18-yard box before jumping and touching the crossbar. She credits her goalkeeper coach James Gibby for having the biggest influence on her as a person and an athlete.
