Mary Haridin-Baylor Athletics

Sarah is studying nursing at UMHB. She was a soccer player at Keller High School and is the daughter of Shoichi and Laurie Sugiyama.

Sarah chose UMHB because of the soccer and nursing programs; she also liked the connection to Baylor’s Air Force ROTC program. Sarah hopes to be a flight nurse for the Air Force after graduation. Sarah enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with friends when she’s not playing soccer. Sarah says most people don’t know half her family is from Japan and can’t believe she watches Seinfeld reruns (because she’s seen every episode 100 times). Sarah credits her team’s soccer manager Scott as having the largest influence on her athletic life and her mother as having the largest impact on her personal life.
