Shay is an exercise physiology major at UMHB. She participated in soccer, softball, football and golf at Our Lady of the Hills High School. Shay was a four-time all-district and four-time all-state soccer player. She also led her team to a state championship in soccer and competed in the golf state tournament as a senior. Shay was awarded Female Athlete of the Year and also earned academic all-district honors her junior and senior year. She was a participant in National Honor Society and is the daughter of Carl and Lisa Smith.Shay and her husband, Hunter, were married in summer 2021.
