Avery is studying health sciences at UMHB. She was an all-state volleyball player at Glen Rose High School, where she was also a two-time District Setter of the Year. Avery also earned all-district, Arlington Invitational All-Tournament and WFAA Scholar Athlete of the Week. Avery also holds the school record for career aces and assists. She was an academic all-state selection, academic all-state elite team member and four-time academic all-district honoree. Avery also participated in National Honor Society, Workforce Industry Training, Cross-Examination Debate, Accounting Team, Spelling and Vocabulary Team, Literary Criticism Team, Informative Speaking Team, Health Occupations Students of America, Gold Out Glen Rose for Pediatric Cancer Awareness, Alliance for Fertility Preservation and Texas Bluebonnet Girls State. She is the daughter of Keith and Lori Gray.
