Volleyball falls to Hardin-Simmons 3-1

Tyler, TX — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team could not overcome an early two-set deficit and the Cru fell to Hardin-Simmons 3-1 to close out the American Southwest Conference Dig Pink Crossover Challenge Saturday in Tyler. The loss drops UMHB to 14-5 overall and 9-3 in American Southwest Conference play on the season.
 
UMHB dropped the first two sets, then rallied to win the third before the comeback fell short in a 25-11, 25-20, 22-25, 25-20 loss. Tina Miller and Kaydie Cochran led the Cru with ten kills apiece. Sophia Alexiou had seven kills and three service aces. Anissa Garcia recorded a team-high 36 assists to go with 14 digs. Morgan Baker led UMHB with 20 digs, Jasmine Austin added 17 digs and Cochran also reached double figures with 10 digs.
 
UMHB will return to action with three ASC East Division road matches next weekend. The Cru will take on U.T.-Tyler in a 7:00 PM start on Tuesday night before taking on Mississippi College on Friday and facing Centenary College on Saturday afternoon.
