Sherman, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team put Austin College on the ropes, but the Cru could never put the Kangaroos away in a 3-2 loss Saturday night in Sherman. The Cru fell 23-25, 15-25, 27-25, 25-19, 15-13 and had a three-match winning streak snapped. UMHB is now 4-3 on the season.
Kimberly Smidovec topped the Cru with 17 kills and
Sophia Alexiou added 15 more.
Anissa Garcia had 54 assists for UMHB. Three players had huge nights in digs for the Cru, led by
Morgan Baker with 36.
Jasmine Austin chipped in with 28 and
Elise Butler had 25 digs.
UMHB will now return home for a pair of American Southwest Conference East Division matches next week. The Cru will host U.T.-Dallas for a 7:00 PM start on Tuesday before closing out the week with a 7:00 PM home match against Centenary College on Friday.
