Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team returns to Crusader Stadium to open a two-game home stand with an American Southwest Conference showdown against Howard Payne University this Saturday. The Cru and Yellow Jackets will kick off at 1:00 PM at Crusader Stadium in the 16th all-time meeting between the two teams.

UMHB is 7-0 overall and has a 3-0 mark in American Southwest Conference play after posting a 63-7 victory at Hardin-Simmons University last Saturday in Abilene. UMHB enters this weekend ranked #2 in the country by the American Football Coaches Association and #3 in the nation by D3football.com. The Yellow Jackets are 3-4 overall on the year and have a 1-3 mark in conference play. Howard Payne is coming off a 47-36 victory over East Texas Baptist University last Saturday in Brownwood and two of the Yellow Jackets' three league losses have come by a combined total of six points against Louisiana College and Mississippi College.

"They (Howard Payne) are doing a nice job and really coming along," Cru Head Coach Pete Fredenburg said. "It looks like they have a real good scheme and do some things to cause mismatches for a defense. They are mixing it up pretty well and this is going to be a challenge. We've been concerned about feeling better about ourselves as a team each week and I really feel like we were able to do that after our game last Saturday."

The Cru leads the all-time series with Howard Payne 13-2 and won last year's meeting 68-6 in Brownwood.
