Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will open its 12
th trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships with a familiar face in the opening round this Saturday. The Cru will host the University of Redlands in a 12:00 PM kickoff in the first NCAA postseason game played in Crusader Stadium.
UMHB opened the 2013 season with a 31-13 victory over the Bulldogs in Redlands, California back in September. The game will also be a rematch of a 2011 NCAA Division III National Championships First Round Game. Redlands will return to Crusader Stadium during the 2014 regular season, as well.
The Cru is 10-0 overall on the season and won the American Southwest Conference Championship with a 6-0 league mark. UMHB is in the postseason for the tenth straight year and 12
th time in the last 13 seasons. The Cru has a 21-11 all-time record in the postseason. Redlands went 7-2 overall and won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title with a 7-0 league record. The Bulldogs have won seven straight games after dropping their first two contests to Top 25 programs. Redlands is in the NCAA Division III National Championships for the seventh time in program history.
"Redlands is greatly improved from the first time we played them this season," Cru Head Coach
Pete Fredenburg said. "We have so much respect for (Redlands head coach) Mike Maynard and his staff and program. Our players have shown great focus this week to prepare for this game and we will need to come out and play with great passion and velocity because of the challenge we are facing."
UMHB leads the all-time series with the Bulldogs 2-0 and the Cru joins Mount Union as the only two Division III programs to have won at least one game in every postseason since 2004. The winner of Saturday's game will advance to face the Rowan (NJ) University/Endicott (MA) College winner in the Second Round of the playoffs on November 30
th.

Reserved seats are $10, adult general admission tickets are $8 and student general admission tickets are $5. There are no complimentary tickets or passes accepted for NCAA postseason games.
