Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will have its chance to punch a ticket to the postseason when the Cru hosts East Texas Baptist University in the regular season home finale this Saturday at Crusader Stadium. UMHB can clinch the American Southwest Conference's automatic bid with a win over the Tigers in the 1:00 PM kickoff.

The Cru comes into Saturday's game with an 8-0 overall record and a 4-0 mark in ASC play and UMHB is coming off an 80-0 win over Howard Payne University last Saturday. ETBU is 2-6 overall and 0-4 in ASC play and the Tigers fell to Mississippi College 41-28 last week in a game that was tied 28-28 entering the fourth quarter. UMHB can earn its tenth consecutive berth in the NCAA Division III Championships with a win and could also set up a showdown for the outright ASC title in the final week of the season with a victory. The Cru leads the all-time series with ETBU 12-1, but the Tigers only victory in the series cam in Belton. ETBU won the 2003 meeting 28-21 in overtime and knocked the Cru out of the playoffs that season. UMHB coaches remember that game well and know that this year's game will also be a challenge.

"They can score some points and put a lot of pressure on a defense," Cru Head Coach Pete Fredenburg said. "We will have to be ready to play every snap and get in good coverage and make tackles when we have a chance. I was pleased with our performance last week and we need to keep building on the way we came out and played."

UMHB will be hosting Military Appreciation Day on Saturday with all active duty military receiving free admission and meals. The Cru will recognize the 2013 senior class prior to the game and the Athletic Department is also hosting a canned food drive during the game to benefit needy families in Central Texas.
