Richardson, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-13) to Hardin-Simmons University Friday evening in Richardson. The loss drops the Cru to 29-6 on the season while the Cowgirls improve to 21-14.
Lauren Powell and
Kendall Pye led the Cru with five kills en route to a team-total 22.
Shelby Prather led the Cru with 12 assists while Pye added 10. Defensively,
Kendra Feldmann recorded 13 digs followed by Prather's nine. UMHB recorded five team blocks led by
Cheyenne Dowdey's three block assists. UMHB totaled 3 service aces and 40 digs in the match.
UMHB will return to action tomorrow in an elimination match at 12 p.m. and face the winner of No. 1 seed Texas-Dallas and No. 3 seed East Texas Baptist. The winner of that match will earn a spot in the championship at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9
th. The ASC Champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships.
